Old test results
The test results for this version are very old, and as such they may not represent the current state of Wine. Please consider submitting a new test report.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
This note was originally added to IE Version 5, but may be relevant to all versions.
Don't run IE on an RW mounted DOS partition !
Pretty problematic directory renaming/corruption can happen.
This seems to happen if Wine doesn't have access to certain Windows registry keys.
Renames e.g. "Program Files" to "$!$!$!$!.pfr" and does other horrible things.
BTW, it does not only happen with IE, as it seems to be a generic Windows
Setup process of Explorer which is doing this, which can be launched
under multiple circumstances.
To be safe, use a backup copy only, i.e. copy all relevant windows files over
e.g. to an ext2 partition.

installed correctly - issue with MS domain interconection
by floorripper on Tuesday September 27th 2011, 6:21
Hello,
I have installed ie6, I had to change the line in the winetricks code like listed in previous threads. Normal internet pages are working. But when I have to connect to the internal company Web-pages which require Microsoft Domain authentication, it stops to work. I am not able to authorize myself with domain/username & password.

I need IE6 to run an old program which depends on IE6. I installed 32bit wine 1.3.26. I installed winetricks 672. But when I ran winetricks ie6, I saw the following error:

Executing w_do_call ie6
Executing load_ie6
Executing mkdir -p /home/user/.cache/winetricks/ie6

How to disable "Internet Explorer Script Error" windows
by Dif on Sunday February 28th 2010, 8:08
Does anyone know how to disable the "Internet Explorer Script Error" dialog windows of IE6?
I had to install it just for the Star Trek Online's launcher and I keep get this kinds of errors (probably because the webpage the launcher is showing has some html/javascrip code IE6 doesn't support), but since the launcher is working fine anyway I would like to ignore those errors.
filters not working
by Jakub Klawiter on Friday February 26th 2010, 17:53
I've just installed ie6 with winetricks, to the list of NOT WORKING things we can add one more: opacity using microsoft's filter setting.
e.g. here: ende.com.pl opacity transitions are working under ie6/windows XP, and not working with ie6/wine
