Additional Comments
Of course you need some tricks with DLLs override, winecfg (for your native resolution) and registry (MouseWarpOverride=force) described below, but afterthat the game runs just flawlessly.
When installing expansions, you need to move sounds into Raven Shield 'sounds' dir to make them work. It's not a Wine bug, but UBI's one (described here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=763750).
My screenies start with [RS].
Note: if your mouse sensitivity is high enough the cursor might jump out of the game window if you move your mouse fast, you could prevent this by using slower speed in X and higher sensitivity in game but you'll lose some accuracy
Intro movies cannot be skipped. Only way to do it is to remove the intro movies permanently or to replace them with empty files (might produce better results). The correspondig files are Videos/Logos.bik and Videos/int/RS_Intro.bik. If you happen to have crashing problems with the intro videos, this also gets you into the menu.
Multiplayer works flawlessly.
Known problems:
Intro movies are not skippable or might crash the game (workaround exists)
Mission planning menu may be garbage. You might be able to start the mission by blindly clicking at the lower right corner with the default plan. Some users report they do not have this issue or it works most of the time.
Some artifacts of the player models might appear in your hud, particulary at bottom left, not affecting the gameplay
Fixed problems:
Some snow textures are drawn black or can be seen trough (fixed in >= 1.1.3)
Mouse can't be used in the menu (workaround in >= 1.1.3)
When completing a mission Raven Shield crashes (fixed in >= 1.1.3)
Mission planning menu is garbage after finishing a mission (partially fixed in >= 1.1.3)
Everything above was tested with Wine 1.1.3.
Warning about Punkbuster
Punkbuster might or might not work. You will be kicked out of Punkbuster enabled servers without patching and can be marked as a cheater, so be careful!

MouseWarpOverride problems with cursor solution
by Lukas Matousek on Thursday May 26th 2011, 6:42
Hello,
I just had t use MouseWarpOverride=force option to make my cursor move in the whole window, not only in small rectangle in the center. This was accmpanied by mouse moving down in the game (character looking down all the time).
However if I enabled virtual desktop in winecfg (for ravenshield.exe) with resolution set to my native resolution (in my case 1920x1080), there was no unwanted mouse movement at all and the game is perfectly playable.
Mission planning menu
by Christian on Wednesday March 30th 2011, 5:20
Looks like the videos are again the problem here. Replacing mission intro video files with empty files helped. The video box shows empty and planning works just fine. Like this: mv Oil_Refinery.bik Oil_Refinery.bik.dontbugme; touch Oil_Refinery.bik.
Lag issue
by Mark I. on Sunday March 20th 2011, 0:55
The lag issue that I mentioned in my test result has returned. I've tried several things including reinstalling 1.3.8 and modifying the ini, but no improvement. That said, it looks like it is not specifically a Wine issue or an issue with the Raven Shield settings (I didn't change the settings since the last time it worked).
I'm not getting the mouse lag this time, only the movement lag as before. I also noticed that light sources and dynamic (player) shadows flicker a lot and seem to be related to the lag, it flickers slightly different during the lag vs. the very short bursts of no lag.
I will post again if I find out what's causing it. Until then, any troubleshooting ideas would be appreciated.

2 issues
by Richie on Sunday September 7th 2008, 0:27
I've deleted those intro movies completely, but since the game has copy protection that wine supports, I put CD in the drive and sure enough it reads the DVD in order to play the lengthy 1945 movie....
In the main game menu, my cursor is confined to a small box so I can't do much. At first I tried that warp regedit which didn't work and I expect that its because I've misinterpreted what the fix is actually for. After reading the bug I'm still not sure what I need to do to get around this issue.
