I tried it when it was first released as beta (On OS X, but using wine). Like you said, I got it working a few times but it was completely random...the migration process failed countless times. I obtained a fully patched standalone version of the game, but it still fails to launch in wine after numerous attempts. Kind of disappointed because prior to this new patcher, even the store was working.
