So it appears I already had that patch applied, so not sure why it didn't work.

Also, I have now installed wine-git as per your advice to stay away from the later versions.

my wine --version now reads:

wine-1.3.34-202-gb0f704d

..

is there an easy way to downgrade it to the 1.3.2 you recommend? I couldn't find it.
