update on my issue, i was walked through being able to launch the game, i can log in and everything but when i try to make a game, while its loading i get a message saying "an unknown directx error has occurred. please make sure your video card supports shader model 2.0 and that it is using drivers from the manufacturer."
im pretty sure i have directx installed and updated, ive checked glxinfo | grep "direct rendering" and it comes back yes, my video card is nvidia geforce 9500 gt. anyone have any ideas?
