There are 2 possible problems:
1. LoL sux. I used to have the same bug on windows about year ago, riot just dont fix bugs they make new stuff but bugs that were in game year or even 2 years ago are there still
2. You dont have gnutls (look at my post 2 days ago). If you use precompiled version dont do it, playOnLinux version of wine have patches but dont have gnutls and will not work on some computers (or on any). Before compilation make sure that ./configure informs you that gnutls is found (./configure | grep gnutls).
3. Post console output (if everything fail, this can help others find your problem)
