RE: Patches Wine and Lol

EDIT: Due to the fact for the second response ...
He can't compile! What is the result of a compiled stuff? A binary version! He gets one as a link! He can try if he wants, but he does not have to! So my idea of an solutions is actually right! What does have patching to do with this binary version? It's just a solution because of his compiliation problems ... Not fitting to his hardware specs? Are you serious? So, you always compile GIMP (and other software) by your own instead of using the one in the repository, just to get "the best fit for your hardware specs"? If you doing this, it's fine for you.
Compiling your stuff by your own is a good idea, but you can always use a binary version or a version which is build on another system and made as a .rpm oder .deb or whatever!
But, I've the topic creator is able to handle this thing and get it compiled, then yes, this IS the better way to go.
BTW. a prominent release of a recompiled version of WINE is WOTFLX. As far as I know, build under Gentoo and used by many other people on the WWW with so much different distributions ... or PlayOnLinux, Codeweavers Crossover, and so on ..
