Hi,
I'm still having this issue, I followed your instructions but error I'm having is this:

$ wine "daorigins.exe"
unknown chip id 0x71c6, can't guess.
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x538e2fc,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:keyboard:RegisterHotKey (0x10032,0,0x00000000,44): stub

In this machine I have an ATI X1650 with opensource drivers,
the same game runs just fine in my laptop with a nvidia video card.

Can you help me please to solve this out?
