The intro can be disabled with (DragonAge.ini):
[Movies]
DisableIntroMovies=1
I go right to the main menu with this, but I'm not sure if he's talking about intro or in/new-game movies. Assuming this works, he could still lock up during the game when other movies play, unless he can Escape them quickly enough. I don't see other settings under [Movies] that says to disable movies completely, maybe there's a hidden option for that...
