Had the same problem, and did what suggested MrNice below : restart over and over the process, killing it (ctrl+c) each time it was stalled. Little by little, it went from 49%, 55%, 64%, 70%, maybe more steps, and installed then itself properly.
I had to relaunch and kill the process like 20-30 times.
