if your building a wine later than 1.3.25 you WONT get sound on ubuntu (pulseaudio is "impelemented" but not working at all).
install these librarys and then recompile (first type make clean to delete the previous compiled whine) and then install it, i could send you a precompiled or prepatched wine 1.3.23 with 3 patches, input, better performance and pulseaudio (since you use ubuntu) if you dont want to mess around with that!
