Sorry, wish I could help you.

Try uninstalling Wine and reinstalling Wine 1.2 RC6. That's the version I'm running on Slackware 13.1, although my system has a 64-bit proc I accidentally installed the x86 version after I set up the system.

I'm going to back everything up and install the 64 bit system to see if I can get any better performance out of CounterStrike:Source. It gets laggy when people are nearby.

Another thing I would like to mention is that winetricks will not continue on to install anything once something has failed.

You may want to try to hack the winetricks script, if you have the knowledge to do so, to skip the gecko portion it gets stuck on so it will install the other things it does with the provided command syntax. Possibly just remove the gecko portion of the command line may work. I'm not sure.
