Thanks for posting your success. It would be very handy if you could provide a little more procedural detail to get this working using your method. I've little success poking in the dark with the vague Wine lingo as a beginner user.
I tried to get RIFT running on linux through POL several weeks ago, but was very much discouraged by the vague instructions everywhere I looked. RIFT is the only reason I'm on Windows dual boot and I'd love to kick it.
