To be honest I find the how to in depth too, still appreciate your effort.
I still prefer starting my games with a script for the appropriate prefix.
That way it is easier to separate your custom wine builds and config/dlls/patches.

I was just kidding about the jackassy part!!!! Sarcasm doesn't come across the internet well - should have added a ":)" - my bad. I'd love to do anything I can to help out because the Deus Ex series are some of my favorite games.
To be honest, I felt like I was getting a bit on the in-depth side when I put in the uname -i (Heaven help if you don't know what arch your OS is :) and a couple of other things. Did you see my blunder, though? alias w=... Since I'm the only one ever logged in to my box, I totally forgot about /usr/bin/w
Really what I wanted to /not/ do was fail to mention something like aliasing wine (or starting it with the abs path) or write a howto that writes over the user's wine prefix if they are running dual wine's like I am now.
Also, I've been wondering if some of my slowness is actually a sound issue.. Wine 1.3.27 had an issue with my OSS sound drivers so I'm using ALSA with "full hardware acceleration" (that's another one of those windoze terms I'm not familiar with) and I was wondering if that might be contributing to the slowness. Any ideas (and is that why my sound is clicking)?
