I think this is the wrong way to look at this. Look at the many games in the Wine DB, tons are rated bronze/silver even when needed patches/extra things.
I almost left the page when I saw garbage not realizing it will actually work with patches.
You should change your stance and allow bronze rating at least with patches.
Dev's know what to fix. There are many many bug reports of this issue that have been consolidated into the 1 bug. Just look at the bug # has been marked as a duplicate. They know about this issue.
I believe your reasoning 1 is flawed, as many games have gone from working to not working in the DB after wine is upgraded, and answer is usually to use the old wine that worked before.
