RE: Gold rating?

I agree with your first statement (installer / game).
Yes, it's the same WINEPREFIX I installed the game into. So this could be really the fact, that no winetricks is needed on my side. But even if the DLLs are delivered with the game itself, it's not a "real" DLL override. For e. g. there is no entry for this bunch of DLLs at winecfg, how they should handle it.
If we would seperate this from each game what you have written, mostly 90% of programs and apps here would be never been rated to "Platinum" just because there are some DLLs shipped with.
Also, the DLLs are just shipped with the program / game to eliminate compatibility issues, which are also possible to occure under windows (for e.g. game was build with vcrun2005 instead of vcrun2005sp1).
Also, the Platinum definition is "An application can be rated as Platinum if it installs and runs flawlessly ‘out of the box’. No changes required in winecfg." - This just means, if the installation is working totally fine and the functionallity of the game / program itself, too, it is platin. As you look through users eyes, this is a fact. You're installing and starting the game like you doing this under Windows.
But well, I think we shouldn't dicuss that here :) - Eventually this is something which we should move to a Bugzilla entry (?).
Anyway, from my point of view, I would welcome it, if the AppDB Rating definitions get more specific, how to deal with licence things and patched WINE versions. Also some new fields would be nice, for e.g. "patched WINE (yes/no)" and so on.
