I've been able to patch wine. It gets me past the the infinite loading screen but now leaves me with a blank server list. Can toggle between European and American server lists, but they are both empty.
On windows, the client will take me automatically to the character selection screen as I already have characters made.
I did a clean install of SWTOR and did not rename any files.
