RE: workaround for freeze on game start

If you set "UseGLSL"="disabled", the game outputs the following error: "Failed to initialize renderer. ShaderModel3 required but not supported by your videocard". The card is ATI Radeon HD 4850 (though I'm on a Mac, so it doesn't seem like a driver problem, which are common on Linux machines with ATI cards) Have you managed to work around this?

Workaround allows the game to load for me. However, the 3D world will sometimes be rendered upside down, and sometimes the right way up. It switches periodically while playing. 2D overlay is always the correct way up.
Switching OffscreenRenderingMode back to fbo and lowering the graphics settings will let me complete loading and see the world the right way up. Game crashes every 20 or so minutes with GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY_ERRORs, typically during a scene change.
