I have this problem too. Running Ubuntu 8.04. I tried mounting the Vice_City_Play.iso image using GmountISO, it didn't find it. tried again mounting via the command line, then running 'wine gta-vc.exe' straight after, that didn't work. Then I tried putting the real CD in the actual physical drive. In every case, the game starts, but then it asks me to insert the CD and I can go no further.
I'm already using a supposedly no-cd crack (the game won't start all using the normal exe - if I do that I get a Windows dialog saying 'No CD/DVD-ROM drive found'), so how can I make it find the CD?
