I don't install that codec from the cd but do a '$ winetricks icodecs' after.
The Cut scenes play perfectly but when wanting to skip them it can be slow to get on with it, mainly beacuse SShock for me is painfully slow 'ingame' anyway (moving the mouse curser at the title screen slows down the binary codes flashing across) :S.
