RE: Cannot start SketchUp with 0.9.58
by Mr. Bug on Saturday May 31st 2008, 3:45
i had the same problem when i launched Google SketchUp for the first time:
it would crash with the "missing opengl" error message.
after googeling arround, i found this method wich works great for me:
Open your wine menu and open the C drive (/home/user/.Wine)
Open the Windows Folder
Find Regedit.exe and run it with Wine
Find: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp6\GLConf ig\Display
There are three entries - Look at the bottom one, name 'HW_OK"
Double click it and change the data from a 0 to a 1
after that i had to do what dassouki suggested below
(1- $ wine regedit
2- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp6\SnappyInstructor
3- Change the show value to 0 (zero) )
now Google SketchUp is running fine, the 3d accel is as fast as on Vista, no crash so far. THX everyone
