Just an addition to my previous comment. . still no crashes since installing 180.44. Some additional information to shed some light on my system.

Linux thomaspc 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 20:53:41 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I run a desktop resolution of 1900x1200.
I also run a 64 bit kernel, and I have 8 gigs of RAM.
WoW is set to use OpenGL, not DirectX
With default fan speed, GPU core temp is around 58. Actually kinda cool for a G80. BTX FTW?
