Strange. i have similar setup
Asus M2N-E SLI, Amd athlon x2 6000+, 6GB. Geforce 8800GTS, Ubuntu 9.10 and 9.04 both 64bit.

havent had any single issues with. drivers i have tested are 180.44 to 185.18.36, wine versions i have tested with 3.2 patch are 1.1.26 to 1.1.29 - using 1.1.26 currently, cuz hardare cursor hack works best with that.

...u should try nopat option for kerne, tho i didnt had no problems without it either..

maybe ur wow installation is corrupted?

Have you disabled any powermizer functions? If not, consider installing the latest nvidia drivers from nvidia.com, and updating your wine version.

I've got a 9800GTX+ card that has been malfunctioning since 3.2.2 (not since 3.2 though). I experience those crashes, but I haven't had any hardware crash (touch wood), however I believe it is something to do with trade/general chat. Whenever I'm in a big city (dal, org, UC, SW, IF) every time someone posts on trade, my client freezes for half a second and then starts working again. Also, I find that crashes only happen to me when I leave a vendor without pressing ESC (ie. by runnning until the distance closes the vendor/AH window).
