RE: Shiny new problems on Karmic (ubuntu 9.10)?
by Peter Seebach on Tuesday November 10th 2009, 23:21
Tried repair, no effect (it verified everything and found nothing). Switched to the recommended new Karmic apt source, that too has no effect. Game does not so much as open a window, just prints the exception message and sits there at 100% CPU.
Same game directory runs fine using Ubuntu 9.04. I'm clueless. Repair works, wine works for other programs (but interestingly, not for warcraft III). I have checked that direct rendering is enabled, and so on. I'm pretty much stumped.
Interesting data point: If I chroot to the old drive, and run wine, it doesn't crash like this. So, conclusion, it's some library issue, not the kernel. Boy, that totally narrows it down...
