I have no problems with sound when using Wine 1.2-rc7 on Slackware64-13.1. No PulseAudio here.

Found a semi-fix for this... damn the Wine/Pulseaudio mess!

In winecfg, for WoW.exe, I changed the "Windows OS" selection from Windows XP (which had been working/necessary since time immemorial) to Windows 7 or 2008. Now I get a short annoying squelch on startup, but sound works normally afterword (so far). Mainly writing this so I know to switch it back once Wine sorts out the regression.

Thanks hayjumper! That worked for me as well. I have sound again but there's some crackling that wasn't there before.
