One thing you can try is running on directx mode BUT read on please.
When you launch the game use the command line parameter to pick your mode and use -d3d9ex .. not -d3d
-d3d9ex is directx mode but in a more "compatible" way. Directx mode itself does not have (in my experience) the issue with addons causing problems and the d3d9ex parameter will reduce issues experienced with wine.
