RE: Low frame rate

Hmmmm. This does seem unusual.
I personally hardly get any drop in FPS when in Dalaran or in a big raid etc.
I tend to get around 45 - 60 FPS.
My specs :-
AMD Phenom II X2 - BLACK EDITION (3.1GHz)
2GB DDR2 RAM
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
My advice would be as follows :-
Upgrade to the latest STABLE version of wine (1.2) as outdated versions and beta versions can be messy at controlling applications requirements.
Make sure you are using the latest nVidia drivers from their website for Linux.
Make sure your distro is up to date fully.
My hardware is definately "weaker" than yours now that you have upgraded yet I dont experience any problems when playing WoW, even when running Mangler to talk on Vent with my guild in the background.
There must be something wrong with your wine. It seems to be erroring when distributing system resources.
Make sure you installed WoW using the instructions here on WineHQ. They are the ONLY official ones on the internet that have been fully tested many times to ensure that they work. If you installed by another method you may encounter errors.
Try completely removing WoW AND wine and then reinstalling wine 1.2 and WoW using the instructions here.
Also try removing your nVidia drivers and installing the one from the website following the instructione they have there.
