Maybe it's doing something bad with keybindings too. Just typing in a text buffer does weird things -- q is fine, but 'w' erases the line.. but not as well as Control-W does. Backspace also now kills the line, and spacebar has a good chance to do that too. I'm going to start from a brand-new wine tree.
