I honestly went through everything when I was installing the native linux version of Maya. I don't have a list with me, but im sure if you look hard enough. it will be matter of su apt-get install (missing lib 1) (missing lib 2) etc... AND ALWAYS make sure you reinstall your graphics drivers. what version of ubuntu? PLEASE tell me your on an NVIDIA card aswell....
