RE: Dual-TMU error

I've tried Wow on wine with an i816 (I think it was) and although it ran the game without any errors the graphics were really awful, you couldn't see anything except weird shapes and the framerate was only 2FPS.
Now maybe there was a problem with the video drivers but I just put it down to cheap/old hardware. It was on a Intel Celerion 1.8 with graphics built into the motherboard and was going to put a Nivia PCI 5200 (it doesn't have AGP) in it to see how it performed.
You obviously can't do that with your laptop, however if you do resolve the problem I'd be interested in knowing. How old is your laptop and what's it's processor and memory specification ?
BTW, if you haven't already done this go to the intel website and download the latest drivers for your graphics,
as you can see it was last updated Dec2004 so I wouldn't hold up much hop of getting Wow to run on this chipset and even if you did I guess you would get poor performance out of it anyway.

I have the same problem(does not support dual-tmu). This happens when i try running wow in opengl mode.
My laptop is an Dell Inspiron 6000, 1Gb ram,Pentium Mobile 1,8Ghz, i915 graphics.
In winxp wow runs fine.
With wine in d3d mode it runs but is not playable due to low fps.
So my guess is that there is something strange with the driver for the i915 chipset. Oh and i'm running Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 with the precompiled wine(with wowpatch).
