I get the same errors like you with winecfg, but sound is working in WoW. E.g. to get it to run with Teamspeak I had to add: echo 'WoW.exe 0 0 direct' > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss echo 'WoW.exe 0 0 disable' > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss to my rc.local, to disable recording features for WoW.
