RE: Issues after initial install of POL viewer

I tried what you suggested, and was still unable to get it to work at all. I keep getting the same error, no matter what: "Unable to replace file" after the initial Playonline Viewer update (although it does seem to replace the files anyway), and then a crash upon trying to run the program again.
At this point since there doesn't seem to be any more information forthcoming from those who are rating this application Gold, I am going to assume that nobody wants to share the "Secret" of how to get this program installed. lol
So far I have failed in Ubuntu 32 bit 8.10 with Wine version 1.18 -1.21, Ubuntu 32 bit version 9.04 with the same wine versions, and now I have completely cleaned out my system and loaded a fresh copy of 64 bit 9.04 with the latest 1.21 release of Wine and I am still getting the same error. (Note I remove via package manager, use the commands in terminal found via the Wiki to remove menu items, and completely delete the hidden virtual installation between version changes).
Guys, I am convinced that I am missing a dependency that is not documented in the installation instructions above (or anywhere for that matter), and those instructions badly need to be updated. When the folks who are rating an application Gold are saying things like "does require settings such as OffscreenRenderingMode = fbo" when that particular tweak is nowhere mentioned in any documentation regarding the installation of this game, it's a pretty solid indication that average Jane is going to have a problem. (I looked up the "useful registry keys in the wiki and did add this btw with no change)
Thanks for the one reply that I did get to my question, but at this point I am just going to give up on getting this application to work. I have to be missing some sort of dependency somewhere that is causing this to not work, and it's pretty clear that the answers aren't here. I know it's a volunteer effort and I'm not trying to bash you guys, but it would be really nice for those of you who claim it runs at a gold level (which from what I understand is supposed to mean only a few tweaks) would give a little more information on how you configured Wine so that this was possible.
