Well, I figured it out. I was using Override Application Settings "16x (8xMS, 8xCS)" under Anti-aliasing Settings with the proprietary and changing it to off or Enhance Application Settings "16x (8xMS, 8xCS)" makes the window display properly. The Override Application Settings worked on Ubuntu 9.10 and under, so I didn't even give it any thought. Just putting this up here so others don't make the same mistake.
