RE: Random Crashing as of the March 27 Version Update

Update. As of today via the Dev Tracker on the FFXI Official Forums:
*"With the version update that just took place the other day, countermeasures have been implemented for the issue where the Xbox360 would freeze due to many in-game effects going off."*
This leads me to believe that SE's solution to the 360 issue may involve a "buffer" that fills as multiple battle effects are played, and is routinely dumped as the buffer fills. When the buffer is dumped, WINE isn't prepared to handle it.
Come to think of it, I missed the obvious reason why these crashes happen _mid-way_ through an animation: the animations themselves are timed precisely to allow _for_ the server to reply at the animation midpoint when possible. This is true of every effect with a delayed result for animation's sake. (Effects without a delay timer--such as Job Abilities--seem to get sent immediately.)
This is all theoretical, but it might lead to narrowing down what's happening. I'll attempt some intensive debugging as soon I get a chance.
