I also had this problem although I do not remember the exact output of wine. This happens sometimes, as far as I know it helps to delete the Gw.dat and let the game create a new one (or reinstall Guild Wars). So if it works, it's better to keep backups of your Gw.dat because it happens that after a certain time this problem reappears. The Problem also reappeared to me if Guild Wars was running and I switched to another virtual screen, then the window disappeared and I just heard the background music.
It seems that this is a known bug: bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16783. It also seems that the only solution is to build a new Gw.dat, what is annoying if you have slow Internet.
