also to note, that glxgears pumps out about 4-5k FPS, depending on whether or not I have the window focused or not. also direct rendering is enabled, but i do know if I attempt to install PlayOnLinux, it states that I do not have 3D acceleration enabled. However, again I do have the proprietary drivers instead for my NVidia graphics card. After entering the following lines in the terminal
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-update
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-settings *This line is actually not performed, since I already had the proprietary driver installed, and the apt-get upgrade just updates these pieces of already instead driver/softwares.
