BTW, I didn't use PlayOnlinux to install Fable itself since it doesn't work with my version of Fable. I guess Fable works for some people since in 1.1.17 the bug for black halos is declared closed. bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12143 For the sound, I had a similar issue in Ubuntu 8.10 and it is fixed by killing pulse-audio.
