I'm running v7.10 and Wine 0.9.48 and it works normally for me. It had symptoms similar to what you described after the upgrade. I had to do a complete re-install instead of an upgrade and even there I had to setup the connection to the internet before doing the install. It's working quite well. The only major problem I'm having is that it's crashing on sending a new message. Replies and forwarding do not cause the crash.

Strange, it works for me. I also can reply to a message without WinPMail going away but forwarding without editing and send a new message causes WinPMail to "go away".
