From what I can tell, this would still be at most a silver ranking. No sound and some interface glitches prevent the game from being played the way it was meant to be played, which while not being stability issues, are still fairly critical and prevent a gold ranking (unfortunately) in my opinion.
Could you specify (just to be clear) which registry changes you made?
