I'm not sure if there is an improvement in that regard. I suggest you to try current git. If the problem doesn't go away, please run a regression test to check which patch broke the mouse (wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting). My mouse works fine, so I couldn't do the regression test. Maybe you have some options set which are different to mine?
The sound doesn't work here in an old updated prefix, too. Using a completely new prefix solves the issue. I guess due to recent changes to the wine audio devices there are still some invalid (old) options in the registry of the old updated prefix left. With a new prefix the sound should be fine (tried only with current git).
