The graphics look just fine. I even just run it on medium detail (for better framerates during heavy firefights) and it looks great! There really isnt that much difference between DirectX9 and 8 besides some advanvced shader effects and such - stuff that you don't notice in the middle of a fight anyway. just try it out. And anyway, if you don't like it you can always switch back to directX9 (and black hud) with -dxlevel 90 ;-)
