RE: Wine 1.3.0

1.3 seems to work pretty well in TF2 for me (no upside down stuff, at least, but I have got HDR/Bloom turned off.

I still don't get very good performance, though when not in dx9.1 mode - eg, it seems okay when nothings happening but when things start occuring, it hits 20fps or lower sometimes. (The same machine running windows gets hundreds of FPS in the same demo).

If you're really interested in performance testing, I highly recommend downloading a demo (.dem file) of a pro tournament or something, and then using the demo playback (shift f4? shift f3? I forget now) to play it back. That way you can pause it at intensive scenes and see what the FPS really is like. Use +showbudget (and -showbudget) to turn on and of the VGUI performance monitor.

As for multi-core rendering, the VGUI performance monitor reveals that theres huge problems in WINE with it - one thread seems to speed up, but the other one slows down MASSIVELY, so you get one frame rendered in 5ms, then the next one takes 30, then 5, then 30, etc...
