Same thing with a working setup from two days earlier. After the most recent update, it won't launch.

Tried with Crossover Games also, same problem(Posted about this issue there also).

This happens to me too. Please file a bug so the Wine developers can know about this.

Same thing for me as well. I was playing on it earlier this weekend before the update. From the console output it looks like it has something to do with the d3dx9 package from winetricks.

Yes same problem too. I even noticed that before steam is even fully loaded, it tries to launch TF2 before the main GUI is loaded. I hope there is a fix soon. I would like to keep playing.

Its working for me, aside from crashing on map changes and a couple of other bearable things. Wine 1.7, Fedora 13.

It seems disabling the GameOverlayRenderer library fixes the problem. This will disable the in game overlay (the one that comes up when we click shift + tab).

In winecfg, under Libraries, write GameOverlayRenderer (or gameoverlayrenderer, as it is not case sensitive) in the textbox and click a "New override for library".

After that edit the new entry, and then select the disable option.
