Reverting to wine-1.1.22 fixed the installer problem.
Now there are other problems, though.
The launcher comes up, but does not launch the game.
If I start the game directly, as with this command:
env WINEPREFIX="/media/games/.wine-witcher" wine "/media/games/The Witcher Enhanced Edition/System/witcher.exe"
(.wine-witcher is a "clean" wine set up as described in this forum)
I get the copy protection problem (the "insufficient privileges" window).
I tried using a couple of different nocd cracks (which I dislike doing, but in a storm...) and while the game starts, there is no text in the menus, making playing the game a little difficult.
Any ideas how to fix the missing menu text problem?
