Just to let you know: you are not alone. Happens here too.
There is one message in the PotBS_00001.txt startup log that puzzles me:
Thu Jan 20 19:44:35 2011 WARNING Startup: C:\windows\system32\d3d9.dll version too low (5.3.1.904 < 5.3.2600.2180)
Afterwards come the messages that probably report the problem:
