At this point I am convinced that this is an issue with the drivers I have for my nVidia card. Wine 1.0 lets Starcraft run beautifully (at a slow rate) for me with its only fault being that it doesn't use my card. And I would be more than happy to update my Fedora 8 system so I could get the drivers installed, but I'm afraid to do that for this computer because I tried updating the system once already. After that happened, it would let me log into my desktop but wouldn't load any icons or panels, and then the mouse would quit working altogether. I swear, it never stops. :P I'm gonna keep looking into this.
