Just to show you how simple I was :)
I simply took a FRESH INSTALLATION of UBUNTU LINUX 64-bit 10.04. Updated it. Installed Wine (tried three wine versions, all three worked. RIGHT NOW I am testing with Wine 1.3.5 before I was testing with 1.2 and 1.1.42
Your video card is limited to OpenGL 2.1
By Engine, what exactly are you asking me? Not a Game Engine, are you asking me for the Kernel I am using? If that is your question, then its:
"2.6.32.25-generic*
The good thing about your post was that you managed to actually launch the game. You did not see much in there, and heard music...But you still passed the entire Installation + Update Phase of the game...
What people try in WINE are their optimizations in RegEdit to get the game under control to display correctly. Some try higher version numbers.
The reason I believe I am having success is because a lot of what Linux uses is OpenGL to cover the slack of using D3D. My card is capable of running OpenGL 4.1 which means I can use anything added into Wine on the OpenGL side of things.
Did I forget to mention that Apple likes to modify and optimize OpenGL that they run on their platform which sometimes causes conflicts between Khronos Foundation specification for OpenGL?
But you have achieved a step in the right direction.
