I can't believe people are still posting Test Results telling that they run L4D with -dxlevel 81.
It doesn't make any sense and it's totally misleading. L4D has never supported DirectX 8.1 and it never will...
I should try this game with the new version of wine, but last time I tried (1.1.29 or something similar) it was unplayable. Running this game with Cedega provides a much better experience.

Yes, I'm much the same. Running wine 1.1.28 as it has been gold stared, and unless it's my imagination I get maybe 10 fps better performance, but thats still topping out at about 35 fps.
