RE: Got it working

I applied this patch to the git tree (wine-1.1.12-420-gae48e09), and now I can run the game as well. I get no sound in the missions either, only in the intros.
I didn't need to do any reg hacks for the xaudio2 dll. I originally installed the Nov redist of directx, and it said it had installed correctly, but didn't install the xaudio dlls. Then I ran the installer again, this time they did install. Odd.
CoD5 is unplayably slow running at my full resolution (1680x1050, nvidia 8600M GT). It runs at a mostly acceptable frame rate at 640x480. This is quite different from CoD4, which typically runs at 25-50fps at 1680x1050. I'm using the same settings for both - ie native DirectX DLLs for everything but d3d8, d3d9, dsound, dinput and dinput8; and "OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo", "PixelShaderMode"="enabled", VertexShaderMode"="hardware", "VideoMemorySize"="256".
