It does run slower than in vista, although it isn't playable in vista at full resolution either (it is OK in vista at 1024x768, and probably similar one resolution down in wine). In wine, I get tons of debug messages saying:
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DOcclusionQueryImpl_Issue Not the owning context, can't start query
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DOcclusionQueryImpl_GetData 0x1fb2c8 Wrong context, returning 1.
so maybe this is slowing it down.
In wine, scrolling (ie using the mouse) is plenty fast, but when you move forwards or backwards the frame rate seems to slow down.
